Accommodation

All those wishing to take part in the conference are responsible for arranging their own accommodation. Below we offer a list of links providing information about hotels and hostels situated in or near the city centre.

    By plane:

    • to Warsaw Chopin Airport and then by bus or train (2.5 up to 3.5 hours) 

    • to Warsaw Modlin Airport and then by bus (up to 3.5 hours)

     

    by train:  PKP offers connections to Białystok from all major Polish cities but in the case of some connections you need to change trains in Warsaw; train timetables may be checked and tickets purchased online at the PKP website and SkyCash (https://www.skycash.com)

    by bus: Bus shuttle companies that provide a wide range of connections: FlixBus (https://www.flixbus.co.uk), To get to Białystok from Warsaw, use FlixBus, ŻakExpress (https://zakexpress.pl/en/), or PlusBus (https://plusbus.pl – POLISH ONLY)

     

    Getting around Białystok: 

    By bus: to plan your trip use JakDojade (https://jakdojade.pl/) ((English version available): Choose Bialystok as the default city.

    You can buy bus tickets using SkyCash (https://www.skycash.com) or automatic ticket machines located inside the buses (English language available). Student discounts apply (with a valid student ID >26yo for students and >35yo for PhD Students).

    You can also use a “SMART BKM” option, that is using contactless card (debit, credit or devices supporting contactless payment) by putting it near the card reader every time you GET ON and GET OFF the bus. The ticket system will charge you for all your trips at the end of the day and choose the cheapest option (for example, it will charge you for a 24-hr ticket instead of 6 single-ride tickets if it’s going to be cheaper). Student discounts will not be applied here!

     

    Ticket rates:

    Single ride: 

    • Regular/Student: 4,00 PLN / 2,00 PLN

    Commuter pass: unlimited number of rides within the time limit:

    • 30min; R/S: 3,60 / 1,80
    • 60min; R/S: 5,00 / 2,50
    • 24hr; R/S: 12,00 / 6,00

    If you prefer a less public transport, you can rent a bike. City bikes are located throughout the city. See BiKeR (https://bikerbialystok.pl/en/) for more info.

     

    You can use Bolt (https://bolt.eu/pl/cities/bialystok/) to rent an electric scooter or order a ride.
